Crisp Green Juice and The Cleanse: Day 5

Crisp Green Juice and Day 5 of my juice cleanse.

Crisp Green Juice sq

I hope you’re not starting to feel inundated with juicing reports, but I really feel like it’s important to keep a daily log of the progress to help others who might be interested in doing the same fast. If you’re loving these updates, great! I’m glad I can help you! If not, please just delete them from your e-mail or change the delivery settings on the e-mail to deliver my updates less frequently (you can opt for a once a week delivery), but please don’t unsubscribe. There are only 9 days left and then it’s back to my less frequent blogging about other healthy, gourmet, and sometimes not-so-healthy foods and delicious recipes!

Crisp Green Juice

Morning Exercise: Walking, walking lunges, squats, calf raises

Breakfast: Grapefruit Apple Juice

Lunch: Crisp Green Juice

Dinner: Cinnamon Sweet Potato Carrot Juice

Snack: Crisp Green Juice

I feel: I woke up feeling quite nice this morning! No headaches, no fatigue, and heck, I believe my mind has even started to de-fog! I did wake up SUPER thirsty, which I find a little strange because I guzzle water through the day like it’s nobody’s business… So I ended up chugging water for the first couple of hours of the day. I spent the vast majority of the day editing Door to Door, and aside from going out in the back yard, I didn’t even leave the house. That’s a little depressing, but nothing to do with my cleanse.

I had ample energy all day and went to bed at 10:45 out of a sense of obligation, not because I was tired. All-in-all I’d say things are looking/feeling pretty good! And I finished editing, so tomorrow I’ll have an actual weekend day and take a break from it all.

Crisp Green Juice

I went ahead and just called this Crisp Green Juice because it has so many vegetables in it, I didn’t want to make a big ol’ listed name. I tell you what, the ingredients sound gross (they really do, I won’t deny it), but the taste is actually a lightly sweet, pleasant juice flavor that really doesn’t taste like vegetables. The least prominent flavor being the asparagus–which is great, because as much as I love cooked asparagus, it sounds like a pretty nasty flavor to drink…

It is a beautiful green in color, and chock-full of nutrient-rich greens with a nice little Fuji apple in there for sweetness. This juice recipe makes 2 pretty large servings, so you can drink them both at once, share one, or store it in the fridge for a little bit later. Both times I made this today, I drank both servings (at the recommendation of increasing my juice intake). If you let the juice sit out, the apple juice will begin to separate at the bottom of the green juice, so just keep a spoon or a straw handy so you can stir it up while you drink.
