About Me
So you’d like to know a little bit about me, eh?
OK, here it goes: My name is Rachel and I’m a sweetaholic. No, seriously. Chocolate gets me weak in the knees, cake makes me blush, and the mere sight of ice cream turns me into a bumbling fool. Beams of light and choirs from the Heavens sing down upon me with the mention of Bananas Foster and I feel empowered to climb the likes of Kilimanjaro just to get a spoonful!
I am also a health nut.
I know I know, the juxtaposition of those two things sounds a little bit crazy, but it’s true! Asparagus gets me dancing, Brussels sprouts make my heart sing, and salmon? Well, watch out because salmon gets me doing backflips all over the house and I don’t even care how much furniture is in the way!
And that’s pretty much what you’re going to find here. All original recipes, sometimes super healthy, and sometimes super decadent, but always tried and true and tasty enough to get your tail wagging. I live a pescetarian lifestyle, which means I eat fish and seafood on top of the basic diet of a lacto-ovo vegetarian. You will find pescetarian, vegetarian, and vegan recipes on here as well.

I can’t say that I’m the biggest fan of the “put bacon in everything” trend, as I not only don’t eat pork, but I am also the proud mommy of the world’s cutest teacup potbelly pig, Cupcake. Cuppy, as she is lovingly called by her family, is the best critic to have on hand, as she readily devours samples of my latest creations with such enthusiasm that I feel like a world class chef.

I am an actress, model, and freelance artist in Charlotte, NC. Cupcake and I star alongside each other in The Pescetarian and the Pig the web series where I share how-to’s of my favorite recipes, tips and tricks, hosting ideas, and more. The other residents of Woodhouse Farms also make frequent cameos, especially Butter, Jelly, and Banana Sandwich (the egg-laying department).
I hope you enjoy your time here and try some (or all) of my recipes for yourself. Comments, feedback, and questions are always welcome!
Hope to hear from you soon!
Love,
Rachel and Cupcake

I’m so excited I have found another pescatarian! It’s so hard to find people with similar eating habits as mine. I try to avoid all animal products as much as possible and I’d love to be vegan but I have found that I love seafood too much and I also like cheese so I eat those on special occassions. This makes me feel so much better that someone else has the same thoughts on food as I do!
I was a vegetarian for about 10 years and added fish back to my list of edibles because I just remembered being such a fan of seafood. And I was right! I tried being a vegan once… It didn’t last a week. I definitely understand why people have a hard time giving up the foods they love!
Rachel, I am probably the only vegetarian your mom knew as a teen. I just got a note to see your site; and love everything about it!! I think you are brilliant and talented and very professional. You actually make me want to cook, which is an achievement. (If you tell your mom, be sure she is sitting.) I am sending many thanks to you and a good belly scratch to Cupcake……
