Tasty raw almonds coated in orange juice and chia seeds. Toss in a few dark chocolate chips and freeze-dried orange slices to send these babies over the top!
Ingredients
1 Cup Raw Unsalted Almonds
2 Tbsp. Fresh Squeeze Orange Juice
1 Tbsp. Orange Zest
1 Tbsp. 100% Pure Grade B Maple Syrup
Pinch of Sea Salt
2 tsp. Chia Seeds
¼ Cup Dark Chocolate Chips (I use Ghirardelli 60% Cacao Chips)
¼ Cup Freeze Dried Oranges
Instructions
In a saucepan over medium heat, mix together almonds, orange juice, orange zest, and maple syrup. Stir continuously until almonds are coated and liquid is reduced, only 2-3 minutes.
In a ziploc or large sandwich bag, mix sea salt and chia seeds. Pour coated almonds into the bag and shake to coat thoroughly with chia seeds.
Pour out onto a plate or baking sheet and allow to cool completely. Mix with dark chocolate chips and freeze dried orange pieces and store in a ziploc bag, a sealed container, or serve in a bowl.
