Caramel Maple Peanut Butter Bars

Moist peanut butter cookie bars studded with gooey caramel bits, sweet maple and cinnamon, and topped with dark chocolate chips.
Ingredients
  • ½ Cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 Cup White Sugar
  • 1 Cup Peanut Butter (organic and unsalted recommended)
  • ½ Cup Pure Grade B Maple Syrup
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 2½ Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ tsp. Baking Soda
  • ½ tsp. Sea Salt
  • 1 Cup Kraft Caramel Bits
  • 1 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together butter and sugar until incorporated. Add peanut butter and maple syrup, then eggs one at a time, and vanilla. Mix until well blended.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and sea salt. Slowly add dry mixture to the wet mixture, blending well to incorporate.
  4. Stir in caramel bits.
  5. In a 9x13 glass baking dish, spread the dough evenly. Top the dough by sprinkling with dark chocolate chips (optional).
  6. Place in the oven for 20-25 minutes until edges begin to brown,
  7. Remove from oven and allow to cool before cutting into squares or rectangles.
